HISTORY / KEY FACTS - Fo-Ti Root is one of the most admired herbs in chinese herbal history. It's Chinese name is He Shou Wu which translates "Mr. He with a Head of Black Hair" named after the grandchild of a 58 year old man who according to legend consumed the root over a number of years and regained his dark hair, youthful appearance, vitality, strength, sexual function and fertility as well as curing his diseases and helping him live a long life. Fo-Ti is the tuberous root of a vine plant called Polygonum Multiflorum and is grown in the mountains of southern and central China. BENEFITS - Fo-Ti Root (He Shou Wu) has been shown to help the body produce more of the critical enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) which protects the body against the dangerous free radical, superoxide.
